Hi Carol and Club Ghion members,
It's great to hear about all the progress happening at Selamta! To the lucky ladies traveling in April - this trip will change your lives. My daughter, Audrey and I joined Carol and crew last summer. I will probably always have trouble putting into words how meaningful this experience was for both of us. Some of the thoughts I came away with include my awe for Carol and her dream/action, the concept that one individual CAN make a difference, the resiliency of the human spirit, and how music and laughter can equal joy. I know I'll return, hopefully someday soon. In the meantime I am lucky enough to have the joy of the Selamta family in my life.
Amaseganalo,
Leslie Johnston

Greetings all…

We have great news!

New family home (#7) opening in April. Space now available for eight new kids at the Selamta Children’s Center.

We are currently taking care of 80 children..our goal is to double that number by the end of the year.

AND…More good news!

As of next week we will have help in the office! Annemarie will be working side by side with me to capture all of the opportunities that are coming up. Annemarie has a business background and really knows how to fundraise. Yippee!

Upcoming events:

Walk/Benefit Concert with Starbucks in Portland March
22, 2008. Thanks to Marisa, Stephanie, and Jennifer for putting this together and including HCF. You go girls!

Move to new donated office April 2nd…it’s beautiful.
205 Billings Farm Road
White River Junction, Vermont 05001
802) 299-2288 (new number too!)

Women Empowerment Volunteer trip in April 9-19.

Selamta Fundraising dinner May 15th, 2008.

Volunteer Trip Summer 2008 July 1st -18th

Thank you to our current Ambassadors who are doing such good work in Addis:

Alexadra Renzo
Julie Summanis
Molly Travers

Thanks again to Dave Morin who is completing a make-over on our web site. It reflects our work in Addis and has lots of interactive buttons, pictures and a blog for all to use. Cannot wait to have it up and running. It is much more user friendly and really looks great. Thanks Dave!

For all the Club Ghion members…please feel free to blog on this site. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Amasaganallo,
Carol
